Despite jingoistic cries to the contrary, defunding the Iraq War would show great support for the lives of those engaged in waging this foreign conflict, fought for increasingly vague objectives. Our Empire in general, and the Iraq War in particular is also the single greatest weight on the economy as it is being funded with borrowed and printed money.
Bring them home now, and demand declared wars henceforth!

A controversial Facebook group titled "Soldiers are not Heroes" resulted in many FB subscribers calling for the group to be disbanded. Many angry users went as far as calling for the accounts of those in the group to be terminated.
While the group in question tends to paint soldiers with a wide brush, and is utterly dogmatic in their condemnation, they have brought up an interesting debate topic: are those in the military immediately worthy of gushing praise?
In condemnation of the petition to remove said group, I suggested that the pro and con factions discuss the issue, and promised to provide a forum for such a debate. This is it.
