Liberty´s Torch--The Proactive Pursuit of Freedom

Liberty's Torch is being built to be the online headquarters of the pro-freedom movement. We are not trying to build another place where freedom fighters complain to each other and agree that "someone ought to do something," but rather an organization and site devoted to real, results-driven action.

Our organizational hierarchy and conjunctive effort will ensure that political action and pressure is applied with the requisite force to truly make a difference--defeating the onslaught of government and turning back the encroaching tide of statism through a variety of Actions and Projects combining proven realpolitik and fresh, new approaches to the fight for personal liberty.

We need volunteers to build this network, so please JOIN US. Our organizational approach and goals are summarized below, and volunteers for positions in every state are still needed. Please read about our unique plan and approach to the fight for freedom.

Our primary focus is to break the mold of choir-preaching, and focus on spreading the fires of liberty. This will be accomplished with two primary weapons: education and action. Without changing the conversation, we cannot win this fight. Just as important as action is educating others to the superiority of freedom both its morality, and its utilitarianism, Liberty's Torch is taking a pro-active stand on spreading the idea of liberty, through our far-reaching ad campaign The Liberty Minute, and online articles and print materials supportive of our positions and how to discuss them. We need to make libertarians out of traditional conservatives and liberals. Both are partially in our camp, and both need to be shown that ours is the only consistent position.

Of course, without action liberty is dead in the water. Our organization intends to build an unstoppable action network through an organizational hierarchy. Entire Projects will be managed by Revolutionaries, who will direct Partisans--people overseeing various states and/or areas. The partisans will organize the actions of Freedom Fighters--the grunts in the trenches who hammer out the letters, calls, and faxes, and who show up to protest, or counter-protest. Most of these activities have been tried before, with little success. But our approach differs due to the tiered structure explained above, as well as another unique weapon--Conjunctive Effort.
Unlike most pro-freedom groups are composed of like minded individuals, be they law-and-order Republicans, or medical marijuana proponents, we are not a single-issue organization, but rather labor for across-the-board liberty. People favoring one issue can certainly work with us on that issue alone--we aren't going to turn away the help. And that's the point.

We will join any group that supports our position or cause at hand, regardless of their other positions. We welcome the help from gun rights types when combating gun control, we will happily welcome the tax-protesters to join our tax-related campaigns, and the medical marijuana people are more than welcome to help us flood the powers that be with anti-drug war letters, calls, and other forms of demands.
A thousand-person protest will surely be noticed, while two people sharing a sandwich board will not. Ten thousand can defeat a measure much easier than ten. It is beyond stupid to allow positional bigotry to stand in the way of victory.

Who we need:

Currently, we need writers and editors for our blog, covering current events from our pro-freedom viewpoint. Interested parties should possess a strong command of English language and grammar, be devoted to the cause of liberty, and be willing and able to contribute at least two article or op-ed style pieces per work to our blog.
